The registration of marriage is now mandatory in Haryana since the Haryana Compulsory Registration of Marriage Act in 2008. The certificate is marriage is given to both bride and groom separately as the proof of marriage. The certificate is also helpful in getting a passport or the change of name. Here we are going to describe you the complete procedure to apply for a marriage certificate in Haryana.
Online Application Process to Apply For Marriage Certificate in Haryana:
- Visit the website https://ulbharyana.gov.in/.
- Under the Online Services menu, click on the option ‘Application for Marriage Registration’.
- You will find another option after clicking it, ‘Click here to Apply’. Click on that.
- The application form will open on your screen.
- Fill the form with all appropriate details. Attach scanned copies of all required documents. Choose the payment mode too. You can pay online or use a challan.
- When the fill up is done, click on the button ‘Save’.
- After that, you will find and acknowledgment for submission on the screen containing a transaction id. Take a print out of it.
Offline Application Process to Apply For Marriage Certificate in Haryana:
- You have to download the application form from the Haryana Government official portal. Then, it must be printed in an A4 sized paper.
- You have to submit the correctly filled in application to the marriage registrar at the municipal corporation on any working day. Don’t forget to attach all required documents.
Downloading Process of Certificate:
- Visit the website https://ulbharyana.gov.in/.
- On the homepage, you will find an option, ‘Online Status’. Click on it.
- Enter your transaction id and the verification code in the appropriate boxes.
- If the marriage certificate is available, you will get a download link.
- Download it using the link and take a print out.

- Birth Proof of both bride and groom
- Marriage proof
- Photographs of both bride and groom
- Residence Proof of both bride and groom
- Couple photograph at marriage
- Invitation card of marriage
Fees:
- Within 90 days of marriage, the fee is INR 100. Over 90 days, it is INR 250. If it crosses over a year, then the charges will be INR 300.
Eligibility:
- The age of the bride must be over 18 and the groom must be over 21 years of age.
- They must lived in the district for at least one month where they are registering the marriage.
