Election commission of India has been issuing Voter Identity document to a citizen of India who has become the age of 18 or more than 18 years. Applicants need to submit paper Form – 6 (EPIC-006) to their Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the respective area or also can apply online through the official website for registering new members. Once Voter document is generated and if it is lost, misplaced, change in status, stolen or damaged then it is easy to get a duplicate voter ID by either off-line or on-line options using submitting Form – 2 (EPIC-002).
When there is an application for getting a new or duplicate Voter ID, the electoral Officer has to be undergone the following verification process.
- Verify Self Detail
The officer needs to first view all details of the existing ER. If it is a new entry then it should be not available in the same name along with other parameters like date of birth, age, AADHAR number, etc. If it is for duplicate issuance request then such entry should be available as mentioned in the submitted form. All supporting documents should be verified as per the given details in respective forms.
After viewing properly, it should be verified. If found everything properly then authentic existing entry. It is a primary step for any electoral officer.
- Polling Station Feedback
After authenticating the above records, the same feedback should be submitting at Polling Station. Proper feedback is important in terms of correctness.
- Family Listing & Authentication
After positive feedback, the family group should be created, e.g. Father, Mother, and Kids. After creating a family group, it should be viewed, verified and authenticated. Ensure the authentication in terms of spouse name along with respective spouse name or kids data along with proper surname.
- Un-enrolled Member
After verifying, authenticating, passing feedback and family listing along with authentication, the Electoral officer has to submit the forms for un-enrolled electors who are above 18 years. Also, submit details of family members with the age group between 16 to 17 years.
Thus, these all are steps as mentioned above should be performed by the electoral officer to verify the voter ID in India.
