The Jharkhand Gramin Bank was established on 12th June 2006 with the combination of four rural banks, Hazaribag Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Ranchi Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Giridih Kshetriya Gramin bank, and Singhbhum Kshetriya Gramin Bank. The bank is sponsored by the Bank of India. The bank was initiated for the development of agriculture, trade, industrial, and productive activities in rural areas. The bank also helps small or marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, small entrepreneurs, and artisans. Right now the bank is running its operation in 15 districts with the headquarters at Ranchi.
