Online application process for Driving License in Karnataka:
- First of all, you have to visit the official website of RTO or you can just click on the link http://rto.kar.nic.in/.
- If you are applying online, you can only apply for the vehicles which are non-transport.
- Now, after clicking the link, you will get an option, ‘Learner’s License Online Application’.
- Fill the form with all the required details.
- Scan and upload all the required documents, the list is on the website.
- After all done, submit the form by clicking on the submit button.
- After your form is successfully submitted, you will be able to witness form 2 on your screen. The date of test, timing, and venue will be mentioned there. Note it down or take a print out.
- Now take a print out of the filled in application and visit the RTO office on the date with all the required documents.
- If the age of the applicant is between 16 to 18, he had to bring his parents with him.
- After the LL Test, you can apply for the driving license.
- You have to visit the same website again http://rto.kar.nic.in/.
- You will find the option ‘Online Application For New Driving License’ under the tab ‘Online Application’. Click on it.
- Fill the form with all the required details.
- After filling up correctly, submit the form.
- Note down the application number for further reference.
- You will be called for driving test.
- After clearing all the tests you will receive the license at your home address.
Offline application process for Driving License in Karnataka:
- Get a Form 2 (application form for driving license). You will get it in the state transport website. Download it and take a print out.
- Fill the application form and attach appropriate documents with it like learner’s license number, proof of address, proof of age, etc.
- Submit the application along with all the required documents and fees.
- Then you have to clear some tests.
- You will get the learner license.
- Now you need to visit the RTO office again after 1 month of getting the learner license.
- You have to give the driving test.
- After clearing all the tests you will receive the license at your home address.
- You can take the help of the driving school or the motor vehicle showroom if you are finding it difficult to process yourself.
