Election commission of India has been issuing Voter Identity document to a citizen of India who has crossed the age of 18 or more. Using this identity, an owner of this document can cast a ballot in India’s rural, municipal, state and national elections. Applicants need to submit paper Form – 6 (EPIC-006) to their Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the respective area or also can apply online through the official website. This voter ID will also be used in furnishing identity proof of respective holder as a support document in various applications like electric connection, gas connection, mutual fund, issuing passport, telephone connection, etc.

Off-line Process to issue duplicate Voter ID
- Go to the nearest Voter Facilitation Centre (Electoral Office) to your residence.
- Collect the form EPIC-002 which is used as an application form for duplicate Voter ID Card.
- Fill the Form with various and relevant details like name, address, old voter ID card details, etc
- Please attach supportive documents
- Submit the filled form along with all required supportive documents to the electoral officer.
- The Duplicate Voter ID card will be issued after verifying form and supportive documents by Electoral Officer.
On-line Process to issue duplicate Voter ID
- Download the form EPIC-002 from the official web site, https://www.nvsp.in/.
- Complete the form and attach all required supportive documents.
- Submit the form to the respective electoral office.
- A reference number will be issued for the tracking purpose of your application.
- It will be processed and verified by the Electoral Officer.
- After successful verification, you will get a notification.
- Go to the electoral office and collect the duplicate Voter ID.
So, by following above any procedure, one can get easily duplicate Voter identity in case of loss, damage, change in status, misplaced or stolen Voter ID card.
