The Government of Mizoram brought the Indira Gandhi Widow and Old age pension schemes for the residents of the state. It only proves that the government cares about the helpless and old people in the state too. The benefits of the plans can be claimed easily if you belong to the eligibility criteria mentioned below. Eligibility Criteria for Widow Pension:
- The person must be a citizen of Mizoram.
- The age of the person must be between 40 to 79 years.
- The applicant must be below the poverty line.
- There must be no earning member in the family.
Eligibility Criteria for Old Age Pension:
- The person must be a citizen of Mizoram.
- The age of the person must be over 60 years.
- The applicant must be below the poverty line.
- There must be no earning member in the family.
Process to Apply for Widow and Old Age Pension in Mizoram:
- The process to apply for both the pension schemes is quite the same.
- You have to download the form by clicking the link http://nsap.nic.in/nsap/nsap_legacy.html.
- You can also get the application form from your nearest Gram Panchayat or Social Welfare Office.
- Fill up the from entering accurate details.
- Double check the form as any wrong detail may result in cancellation of your form.
- Attach all required documents with the form and submit it to your nearest Gram Panchayat or Social Welfare Office.
- The details on the form will be verified.
- If all found good, your pension will be sanctioned and for the disbursement of your pension, the sanction order will be then sent to the treasury.
- For old age pension, the person whose age is above 60 years but below 80 years will get INR 200 per month as pension and the person whose age is more than 80 will get INR 500 as the pension.
- The pension which the widows will get as per the widow pension scheme is INR 200.
