A Birth Certificate is always seen as the official proof of birth in all the countries. Australia is no different. But before applying for birth certificate there, you need to do your birth registration as the registration number is one of the most important things you have while applying for the birth certificate. To register the birth, you need to fill up a birth registration statement and send that to the office for registry of birth, death, and marriages within 60 days of birth and you will get the registration number. After you get the number, you can apply for the birth certificate but not before 90 days of birth. There are both online and offline processes of applying for the birth certificate.
