Online Process to Apply for a Marriage Certificate in Maharashtra:
- First of all, you have to visit the official website or you can just click on the link http://www.mahaonline.gov.in/.
- Now, you have to fill the details of Husband and have to choose ‘Registration of Marriage Certificate’.
- There you will get a Marriage Certificate form. Fill that up correctly. Choose an appointment date.
- After doing all of that click on ‘Submit Application’.
- After submitting it, you will be provided a temporary number which will be mentioned in the acknowledgment slip.
- Take a print out of the acknowledgment slip.
- You can check the status of your application online using the number on acknowledgment slip.
- In the case of hindu marriage act, the date of appointment will given in 15 days but in the case of special marriage act the date will be given in 30 days.
- On the appointment date both bride and the groom has to be present before the ADM along with a gazetted officer and the witnesses.
- They will get the certificate on the same date.
Offline Process to Apply for a Marriage Certificate in Maharashtra:
- First of all, you need to visit the office of Sub-Divisional Magistrate of your area and fill up an application form. You will get the form there.
- The form must be filled correctly and must be signed by both husband and wife.
- Submit the form attached with all the appropriate documents like photograph, Aadhaar Card, Proof of birth, etc.
- All the details will be verified before giving you an appointment date for the registration.
- On the appointment date both had to be present before the ADM along with a gazetted officer and the witnesses.
- They will get the certificate on the same date.
- The charges for the certificate differs from state to state. Usually, it is around Rs 100 to 200.
