As we all know that Ration card is not only to purchase subsidized food grain from the public distribution system (PDS) but It is a very important document that serves as an identity and nationality proof in India which is only provided by the state government.
In India there are three kinds of Ration cards issues here based on the economic status which are:
- Above poverty line (APL)
- Below poverty line (BPL)
- Antyodaya (AAY)
But what if we have moved to a different state and we have to transfer our ration cards to a different state?
There are two ways to transfer our Ration card from one state to another:
1 – Visit the necessary food office for your jurisdiction and meet the required officer for your area And write an application and submit along with proof of address and the application fee after which you transfer that will be further proceeded.
2 – Visit www.rationcardagent.co.in

And fill all the required details, fill the shipping address make payment and then if you want then receive your filled form via post.
Generally, people prefer an online way to transfer Ration cards because it is a more easy and convenient way.
Required documents:
1 – Three passports size photographs of the applicant.
2 – Proof of residence: Copy of any of the following documents showing the residence address of the applicant.
- Aadhaar card
- Driving license
- Passport
- Telephone bill in the name of the applicant
- Latest LPG receipt on the name of the applicant
- Any other document that can prove the applicant’s residence.
Note – If you have already and ration card of another place then you have to first submit a surrender certificate from the previous place, after submitting a surrender certificate, a new Ration card will be issued.
